Student life

Living in Mauritius

A multicultural, bilingual and internationally connected island with established hospitality, tourism, finance and business sectors.

The island

English and French are both widely used, the island is safe and well connected, and the tourism industry that students train for is all around them.

After you arrive

Complete the post-arrival medical tests within 14 days and attend the verification appointment with your original documents. Students then obtain a Mauritian identification number and open a local bank account.

Working while you study

Student permit holders may work up to 20 hours per week. For each later year of study, proof of funds of MUR 150,000 is required again.
